Last Day of 2014 to Protect Conservation

last day to donate
Today is your last chance to make a tax-deductible donation to the Conservation Federation of Missouri before the year is over. Please help us protect the wildlife and natural resources you love and cherish.
CFM had a busy, and very rewarding 2014. We fought to stop legislation that would have reclassified captive deer as livestock, we helped provide over one million meals of venison to Missourians in need, we had over 50 students participate in the Conservation Leadership Corps, and so much more.

However, our work doesn’t stop with the New Year. As we enter 2015, legislation has already been filed to attack conservation. CFM will be there for you in the Capitol, working tirelessly to overcome these incredulous attacks that threaten to end conservation as we know it in Missouri. To successfully defend conservation from those who seek to destroy what 80 years of non-political, scientific resource management has built, we must have your support.Won’t you please help us protect the wildlife and natural resources you cherish, so your children and your children’s children may know the same natural splendor that exists today in Missouri?

These bills, and many more aimed at destroying conservation have already been filed. We need your support to stop them.

  • HJR 8 (Rep. Craig Redmon): Proposes a REPEAL of the conservation sales and use tax of 0.0125%, which will result in the loss of roughly 60 percent of MDC funding.
  • SB 56 (Senator Brian Munzlinger): Proposes the elimination of fees for hunting, fishing and trapping permits, which will result in the loss of roughly 30 percent of MDC funding.
  • SJR 1 (Senator Brian Munzlinger): Proposes to expand the Conservation Commission from four to eight members, with each member residing in a different MDC region, which will create infighting as regions are pitted against each other for resources.
  • HB 317 (Rep. Wanda Brown): The Department of Conservation will reimburse automobile owners who have sustained damage due to hitting or being hit by a deer for up to $500, which will impact MDC funding at an unknown, but significant level.

Your donation will be used to stop these and other blatant attacks on conservation in Missouri. And if you donate $25 or more, we will send you one or more of the FREE gifts below.
