Join the Conservation Federation of Missouri (CFM) on October 24 at our upcoming regional event, Explore the Outdoors: St. Louis.

CFM is hosting a banquet in St. Louis to celebrate conservation, meet new friends and enjoy conversations with people who share your interests. The banquet includes dinner, silent and live auctions and live music. The highlight of the evening will be a panel discussion featuring conservation professionals.

Get to know our panelists:

Peter RavenDr. Peter Raven: 

Raven is President Emeritus of the Missouri Botanical Garden. Raven holds a BSc in Biology and a Ph.D in botany. He is best known for his important work, Butterflies and Plants: A Study in Coevolution, which he coauthored with Paul R. Ehrlich. He has since written numerous scientific papers and articles relating to botany. Raven is covering world conservation topics during the event’s panel discussion.

Andy BuchsbaumAndy Buchsbaum:

Buchsbaum is the Vice President of Conservation Action for the National Wildlife Federation and the interim Executive Director for the NWF Action Fund. Buchsbaum studied law and taught environmental law courses at the University of Michigan. He has authored and coauthored numerous studies, reports and law review articles testifying on land and water issues. Buchsbaum is speaking on national conservation issues at the event.

Brandon ButlerBrandon Butler:

Butler is the Executive Director of the Conservation Federation of Missouri. He is well known for his outdoor columns appearing in numerous newspapers. As Executive Director of CFM, he is a link between legislators and sportsmen around the state. He leads the largest and most representative conservation group in Missouri. Under his direction, CFM continues to ensure the natural resources and outdoor heritage of Missouri. Butler is discussing conservation topics related to Missouri.

In addition to the banquet, CFM will hold educational seminars and activities at Powder Valley Conservation Nature Center beginning at 9 a.m. Seminars will run throughout the day covering various topics specific to outdoor opportunities in the St. Louis area. Topics include outdoor photography, hiking, birding, hunting, fishing and more. We have turkey legend Ray Eye conducting one of his famous seminars. Bring the whole family to learn how to take advantage of the outdoor activities the St. Louis area has to offer.
