Missouri is nationally recognized as a leader of conservation, and is well known for its immense public waterway systems. House Bill 955, to be heard Monday in a committee hearing, could change this fact by potentially limiting public access to “navigable watercourse” that have been deemed navigable.
This bill has the potential to affect how sportsmen and outdoor recreationalists have historically used streams and waterways.
It is unknown at this point the full extent of impact the bill will have, but CFM will continue to educate citizens regarding legislation that could potentially have an adverse impact on sportsmen.
Monday is your chance to find out more information and voice your opinion on this bill. Come to the Capitol and attend the hearing to gain a better understanding of this piece of legislation. This is the time to ask any questions you may have about your future access to Missouri waterways. It’s your right as a citizen to have your voice heard.
